Good idea or what?
I was looking at an FD the other day that has 70k miles on it. It's in good condition. It is being sold by a small dealer that sells hard to find cars. They have 36k mile warranty. The engine has never been replaced. Do you guys think its a good idea to drive it real hard while under warranty for the fun of it and if the engine goes the warranty has to pick up the tab. thoughts opinions please. And no, I'm not going to do anything illegal like intentionally cut a coolant line to blow the engine. Am I missing something here?
Basically it would be a lot better for the engine to crap out during those 36k miles b/c if it doesn't it will be a 100k+ engine and will almost certainly crap out soon after the warranty.

Check the warranty and see what it actually covers. You might get the car and find out the warranty doesn't cover things such as engine replacement or rebuilds.
Or it may cover those under circumstances that you'll never have...
Basically, get more information about the car and the warranty.

true to that. not all warranties cover engines. my warranty company (CarLife) gave me a hard time. they want to know EVERY oil change i did. i gotta go find every receipt of it with date. it's insane. and still, i dont think they will cover the whole engine in full.
