Lightbulb Is this a good Deal + HELP IN ILLINOIS

Hi, there is a Dealership near my house which is selling a 93 Rx7..loaded, w/ 109k miles..for $11,967. Is this worth the price? Also, anyone in the Illinois area, that can help me find a good Rotary mechanic, because if i buy this car, i will probably replace the engine, for a way lower mile one. Plz help guys!

That is a lot of miles, if it is the original engine. I would definatly get a compresion test done, and a boost test. If it is original miles on engine and turbos, I would think about passing. Check out

They just opened and I am sure they would be willing to look at the car for you.

IMHO I would look for a lower miles rx7, that also is a pretty high price if everthings original.

That's definately a nice price, but if you do buy it you should really expect to have to do at least 1k in work on the engine. It it's original miles I'm sure everything is due for a rebuild at least.

Well..will the dealership let me drive a total of 43 miles to get the A-spec tuning? Cuz thats how far it is away from the dealership (there and back). Also, they just let you take the car to a mechanic like that...? I dont get it, you say "Oh yeah im taking it to a mechanic" Wouldnt they not let you because if there is something wrong with it, the can get screwed over...?

You will have to prove to them that you are serious about buying the car. Baically if you really want the car this is the final step in the process. You just say I want a mechanic to look at the car before I buy it. If they don't let you then they are hidding something. I did this before buying a 93 with 60k on it and it had border line compression so I passed on it. What kind of dealership is it? used or new? If it is a little place you might have a harder timw trying to convince them to buy it. Good luck
