Good Deal?

Hey, i was wondering if i'm getting a good deal on this... i know this sin't the best, but its really good for my area. I'm located north of chicago, an i found a 1994 montego blue touring edition rx7. it has 75k orginal miles. Its been bought and driven by a girl for at 36k miles. She just moved here from LA. The car is being shipped from LA and should be here 2morrow. She wants to sell it for 15 grand. Its all stock. It sound pretty reliable too because she said she drove it to lake tahoe a few times, and thats a 8 hr drive. And she actually knows stuff to about rx7's, she's changed the oil every 2500miles, she just had a 3 grand checkup done at tripoint engineering? is that place good? so she has paers on what was replaced, and the ratings of the shocks...etc. She's used premium, never raced, almost no problems??? Is this possible, do rx7's just hate us guys??? Thanks! I wanna know if i'm getting agood deal, and how much more reliable is a 94 compared ot a 93??? o and she never let the gas drop under a quarter of a tank. Thanks! and she got a new paint job, because of dings and stuff, and clean title!

I don't know what blue book value on a FD with 75k is, but that car sounds like it was taken care of. Also I've never heard anything bad about tri-point engineering although I've never dealt with them. You might want to ask her if she had a compression test when she had that checkup done, because it sounds like they did check everything else. All in all it sounds like it should be a great car.

Also if you are a little weary about buying it you may want to check online and try to find a warranty company that will give you a warranty on the car. There aren't too many that will give you a warranty for a FD, but there were 1 or 2 if I remember correctly. It will probably cost a little bit, but most of them will honor their warrantys up until like 100k so that's another 25k miles. Cheap insurance in case anything would happen.

Speaking of which, what is the deal with warrenties? If you start to mod your engine, doesn't the warrenty become void?

Sounds good to me, Tri-point has a very good reputation (they campaigned a 3rd gen to several national autocross titles, they know their stuff but many people think they are a ripoff because they charge so much, but hey, not your problem ). As long as you're happy with MBM and there's nothing else fishy about the car then it sounds good.

really... i guess it is a good place, i did some searches, and its all good,

but about the warranties, how extensive are they and like what rx7fastlane said, if i mod my car, doesn't that void the warranty? How much do these warranties run for? And will it cover a normal rebuild? or will it cover streetporting and 3mm seals... thanks alot!
