Good car cover?

I hate to post this because I'm sure it's been covered multiple times, but the search function ignores car and comes up with a bunch of threads that mention covers other than a car cover.

Does anybody know of a good quality/fit car cover for 3rd gens?

i use the generic summit racing car cover every day. I put it on the car at night and i put it on the car when i get to work. Only 30-ish bucks and it's 150 denier polyester. Keeps sun, dust, wind, rain, breathable, and UV rays out. You will not beat that price anywere.

I highly recommend it.

You can also buy car specific ones from california car cover but expect to pay LOTS more.

p.s. if you search for "car cover" with the quotes you will get exact matches only.

I have an original Mazda cover for my FD it has some holes, but still fits awesome.

be careful not to have a real loose fitting car cover on a remotely dirty car, it will harm the paint.

^ even so, car covers add protection even indoors. protects from minor dings or scuffs.

sometimes people drive their cars to work, and don't have covered parking.

better to have one just in case.

but yeah, +1 on the garage.

There is still a decent amount of dust in a garage... and as mentioned above, people do drive these to work. I hate coming out of a long day of work to see my just-cleaned car covered in dust and pollen.

not at all. works like a charm. It even has tie down loops for storage. I can't say enough good things about this cover.

I park my RX in a "garage" that is underneath an apartment complex. It still gets car covered. Dust, wind, etc. are still in garages.

I bought one at Advance Auto Parts for $60... It's done the job pretty well. Mine sits in a carport, couldn't tell you about scratches though since I'm currently sanding down for a repaint.

Thanks for the tip grimple1, there's definitely something to be said for low cost. might have to go with that if it seems to work for you. Even if I needed to replace it fairly quickly I'd still be better off. Also thanks for the tip on searching, I forgot about that.

Be careful with the "low-cost" car covers. I had one on my black FD for sometime (in my garage) and it started scratching up my paint pretty badly.

I strongly recommend that if your'e covering it to store outside, that you add extra bungee straps. I have had mine outside for one year now and keep it covered 90% of the time, and only cover it when washed. When it gets windy the cover wants to flap on the car, and I just now realized that it's rubbing off what's left of the paint. You can see it on the roof, headlight covers, and washer nozzles.

The cover I use is by california car cover. It fits really well.

I'm not planning on storing it for any significant period of time, I just want to cover it while I'm at work. So far it hasn't been to breezy around here, but it certainly is sunny.
