Is this a good buy?

Whats up..recently i've been gaining interest in the FD..and i seen 2 go for fairly low price and was wondering are these good buys..judging by the miles i hear it would need a rebuild...since around 70k its around the end of its life usally. And also how much does a full rebuild go for?..i got around 9k to play with now...just dont wanna buy something that will turn into a money pit.

p.s. I am gonna search also..lol but for now lmk

thanks in advance

FD's are money pits.

Also, I can guarantee the first one is not going for just $5800, the owner is on this board and has been trying to sell for much more than that.

I call BS.

The first car belongs to "fastrx7man" of the forum:

http://www.cardomain.com/id/fastrx7man

Also, the prices are ridiculously low. I have a hard time believing that these cars w/ easily over $20K into them are only selling for a third of that. Caveat emptor.

fd's are money pits like said above and i suggest not getting one if you only have 9k..

with that much, you'll prob have enough to get a half decent one that has a buttload of problems, then you will have no dough to fix those problems assuming you're not a mechanic and the list goes on and on..

if you really want an fd, i strongly suggest doing a search on all the basics, save at least 7-8k more to get a good running fd plus leftover dough to play around with.

This is the third one of these I have seen pop up in the past couple of days on ebay. They are bullshit rip-off scams. PM fastrx7man and see if he is selling his car?

They are getting a little more sophisticated because they are using id's that have plenty of good sales behind them. How much you want to bet those ID's have been hacked?

I think what they do is sell a lot of cheap stuff to get their rating up, so people will think they're legit. Then they throw out the big scam and people fall for it.

But yea sticking to the topic, if you only have 9k I wouldnt get an FD. 9k usually buys you a blown one, and you'll be spending a lot to get it up and running.

Hello,
My name is Robert Perro and you are looking at my Rx-7 that is for sale.
First you have to know the car is available on Ebay, but the bidding was restricted. First reason is because i had many problems with bidders in the past. I think they allways like to bid but not all the time like to buy. The auction is a buy it now one so, only one person can buy it. So i want to be sure the one wich will bid on it, will be the buyer. For that, you need just to be agree with my condition and the car will be yours.
The CAR is in a perfect condition. Red 1993 Mazda RX-7 Base Package with beige leather interior and 64,000 miles. The car runs and looks perfect, as close to new as is possible. The car has never seen snow, has never had an accident and is just in excellent mechanical condition. Original wheels with set of Toyo Proxes T1 Tires with 70% tread left, Pettit Racing Aluminum Separator Tank. The car is perfect mechanically and cosmetically. Custom car cover with cable lock included The quality of the install is outstanding and there will be no disappointments with this car. It has Us specs and it is registered in Us. there is going to be no problem in registering it there on your name.
The price for this car is $6000 and this includes shipping and insurance. I sell it at this price because i can't register it here in Greece and it has to come back in US. The custom fees and import fees are too big and no one from here isn't going to pay that fees even for a car like this.
This deal is going to be made through Ebay Safety Board
Shipping: l will ship via Lufthansa Air Cargo or AutoTrans Express but you can choose other mail carrier. lt
usually takes 4-5 till the car arrives to your door. l will
cover the shipping and insurance costs.
It will be shipped from Athena, Greece and I will pay the shipping and insurance charges.
Payment: l'm a fair trader with 98% positive feedback on eBay which is the
proof that l have closed a lot of sucessful deals.
During this period l learned that the best deals are closed when the
risk involved is minimum.
You will arrange payment through Western Union(www.westernunion.com) or Money Gram and for your safety we are going to make this transaction with Ebay Safety Board.
I have something safe for you because I want you to be sure that
you will receive the car and I hope we will colaborate in future,
too.
Look what can I do for you:
-you will make the transfer to my location but not to my name (you will
use your best friends name for example as receiver's name) so you can be
sure that I will not pick up the money untill you get the car.So
you make a deposit at western union and you will
give me the transfer's details so I can check on their site if it´s
valid.
After I verify I will send you the car imediately and email you the
tracking number from Lufthansa.
-only after you will receive the car and check it if it ok you will
have to call at Western Union to change the transfer to my name so i can collect my
money. So,untill you will have the car in to your door the money will
be deposited on your best friend's name at western union agent.
I think it is better to not inform Western Union that you will change
the receivers name in a few days because they will ask you to pay the
fees twice.
My old buyers of course make the transfer at western union direct to my
name which is easier and i will be happy if you can trust me and make
the transfer on my details from the beginning but also because it is our
first deal i proposed you this very safe and efficient
method so you can only deposit the money first and after you get the
car to allowed me to cash it.
Probably this payment method it is not very familiar to you but since i
am in Greece (where is a lot of birocracy and this method is very used) l have used it for many times and each of my customers being
satisfied and l have to admit that it is most efficient process to go
trough.
Return policy: In case you'll change your mind after receiving the
car and want to cancel the order you'll ship it back and retreive
the money from Western Union. Also in case the delivery does not arrive
on time please email me and I'll contact the mail carrier.
I look forward to hear from you.
Sincerly Regards!!!

if you have around 9k, you might be abke to pick one up with a good running re-man motor and good interior.... dont expect it to be in great condition but it can be done.... hell, people sell their fd's for as low as 7k now... they are not worth that much now and if you are spending anywhere from 15-20k on one, you had better make sure its in great running condition. if you spend 9k buying one, expect to run into problems within the first months... but then again, if you spend 15k, you also might have problems but the more you pay for an fd, the better condition it should be in.

good luck man!
