ok just got back from checking it out. The biggest problem besides the title was an undiagnosed oil leak. Oil was all along the bottom of the car all the way to the diff. The car was too low and I couldn't even get an idea of where it was coming from. The owner was very nice and I spent a long time checking it out. The car was pretty dirty. The interior was complete but would need some scrubbing. It ran well, and seemed to not have any synchro damage on the test drive. He has a list of everything that was supposed to be done to it from fuel system, turbo, and exhaust, and tune. However, this was just on a piece of paper, not actual printed receipt. The car will definitely need a good amount of work.

RUN AWAY. If you don't understand why you should be running away read this whole thing before you waste your money:

It's worth the read for entertainment value alone, but the wisdom in buying used cars with salvage titles is invaluable.

2. its not a very nice one. we know it needs work.
3. we're not BMW "experts" who forget to look at ANYTHING important on the car other than its RED!
4. what kind of moron BELIEVES A CAR SALESMAN? this is why you need to look at the car. the car DOES tell a story, you just have to find it

haha I just spent an hour reading that entire thing. I spent about an hour and half today looking at the car. I have made mistakes in the past buying cars and I no longer get that "excitement" when I look at a car... I just stay really calm so I can make an informed decision. I would also never buy from someone who wouldn't let me look at the car....
