Going home, a few questions about various new parts.

i am going home soon. i have bought a lot of new parts for my rx7 that i will be installing, and i had a few questions on what i would need to do to not screw this up.

first i have bought a new intake, i am pretty sure i wont have to do anything besides bolt this part on.

next i bought the block off plates for the vacuum hose simplification. i was planning on installing all the plates, including the turbo plate to convert the sequential twins. would doing this mess with anything on the car fuel to air ratio? and would i need to tune the car to be able to run this?

i have bought a power fc and commander, and plan to go single eventually. I just havent gotten the time so far, or the funds to get this car tuned. would it be possible to tune this myself? or will you need profesional equipment for th basic set up that i will have?

i have finally bought a greddy pulley kit. to my understanding this just eliminates the air pump. since i am running a 3" downpipe, then there is no reason to have the pump. so eliminating this would have almost no effect over how it is running now.

Going nonsequential will not require a retune since it will not change your boost levels.

The PowerFC can run out of the box if it is loaded with the Base map. Tuning makes it better but the base map will support stock plus a little bit of boost. (You'll have to look up the boost level that the particular base map supports)

Air pump elimination should not be a big deal. However, it puts additional load on the crank pulley. Chadwick posted a thread recently about it that you should read through.

how would i find out about what is loaded on the power fc? i assume it would be the last tune that was on it. and if so, would i be able to tune it back to the base program that comes on it?

If it's new, it has the base map. If it's used, it has the last tune. I'm not sure offhand if you need the datalogit (PC interface) to reload the base map.
