Glowing red pre-cat

This is actually for my bud that has an auto with a tri-poit hi-flow pre-cat.

I know his injectors are leaking, so if unburnt gas hits the cat it can glow like a charcoal which has happened in my Honda.

Could it also glow like a bbq charcoal if it's clogged?

Anyhow if you've had a similar experience can you post and i'll foward it to him? Thanks.

Oh, are any of you Auto' guys running a down pipe?

I've noticed the same thing. I think it may just be the way the car is supposed to be... I've replaced my pre-cat with a DP, the O2 sensor, the main cat is fine on visual, and I boost 12-10-12 (but only very occaisonally). I've just posted another thread on this, let's see what other people think of my lame ideas...

Well he doesn't have an upgraded or aftermarket ECU. He has intake, exhaust and Efini y-pipe, so i'm not sure if he will boost over 11lbs.

My pre-cat never glowed charcoal red hot.

....
I have all that + the DP and a STREETPORT on my Auto equipped FD3s w stock ecu (see sig) your friend should have No problem maintaining 10psi boost as long as he keeps the STOCK Cat. he may need to put in a larger pill (or open up the nipple on the wastegate actuator) and/or add a Home Depot or Daws Device type boost control valve.
