Hey guys. Sorry to be such a pain in the *** with the questions but can i put a glass moonroof on my 93 rx7? . It came with the metal sunroof. Im not to fond of the metal one. Is there any differences?

 

Glass roof from a 94 is a direct swap.

 

what model is the 94 with glass roof and what options came with it? cause i have that model...

 

'94 and '95 "touring" models. as far as i know, they came with: cruise control, leather seats, auto trans was an option, sound system, fog lights... spoiler, front lip and front strut bar were not standard like the R2 models... but they may have been optional, i don't know...

the popular equipment package "PEP" had the metal sunroof and lacked fog lights (the light may have been optional)

 

Only 1994 and only Touring. If you get one, make sure you get the removable shade for it too.

PEP replaced Touring in '95 and had no rear wiper or BOSE snake.

 

Yup, if you have a 94 PEP it will come with metal roof.

From inside looking out or out looking in ? give me an idea so I can get them for you.

also, shade is pop off and snaps in place. It is either on OR off. It does not slide back like other shades on newer cars.

When I was shopping for an FD couple years back, I've only seen glass roof on 94 GT, all the PEP I've looked at has metal roof. Is everything on your MB original? Or could it be an option from dealer for PEP to have glass roof?

 

Not 100% positive as I am the 3rd owner. The 2nd owner told me the car was as is since the day he bought it from the original owner BUT who knows what the truth is.
My FD actually had R1 seats, rear spoiler and black carpeting in it when I purchased it. Again, informed by the 2nd owner that it has been that way since day 1.

They are awfully hard to get. It seems most 94 owners with glass sunroofs dont even have them. Looked in the past for one myself for the glass roof I put in my 93.

 

for those of you that have the shade...be sure to check the rivets where the shade clips in, otherwise you maybe be watching it fly away behind you. This almost happened to mine...I still need to re-rivit the holders.
I got lucky and found one in the FS section as I didn't have one when I bought the car.
