Give it to me straight, Car not starting
Ok here is the problem. I went out to start the car to go to work on Thursday. When I tried to crank it it sounded as iff the starter was spinning but but it had no resistance. Kind of like a constant whine, raaaaaaaaaa instead of the normal (demonstrating one of those sound) ra ra ra ra. Of course my mechanic was leaving that day to race his 2nd gen race car up at VIR so when I called him and gave him the brief sonopsis he said that it sounded like the starter solenoid not engaging the starter on the flywheel. This sounded like a viable answer so I let him go and finally tracked down a new starter late Fri evening that I was able to get Sat afternoon. I installed it and the same thing happened and this time I had a friend look at the pulleys to see if it was turning the engine and it was.
So where does this leave me? It doesn't seem as though the engine is giving it, the starter, any resistance and this is making me think that it has lost compression. If this is the case it is very disturbing considering that I just had it built at Christmas. What do you all think. It cranked up on Wed. night when I was just starting it to show somebody. I changed the plugs around 600 miles ago. I have had a recent rash of the car trying to overheat. I have never let the needle move off center but the Power FC gets up to around 103 C (I have never let it get over this)and the car starts to belch antifreeze. Do these seem to go hand in hand? I have changed the radiator cap and the thermostat to no avail. Could it be in the ignition or what? I am shipping it off to Rotorsports to have it looked at on Mon but I want to know what to expect. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance to all of you that have gotten this far.

Definitely sounds flooded because you previously started it only for a short while. This sometimes causes the car to flood so avoid it. To unflood, first try cranking it with the gas all the way down, this will crank it with no fuel and hopefully clear it up. If not, you'll need ATF, do a search on how to, its not too hard.

The antifreeze comes from the overflow tank. I have topped it off a couple of times and like I said I have changed the radiator cap(on the ast) and the thermostat and it didn't seem to help. Thanks for your concern and your reply.
Here is what I have done twice to see if I could diagnose this problem after it was suggested that it was flooded. I pulled the plugs, pulled the fuel pump relay and cranked the engine for like 20 sec. I then cleaned the plugs and waited for an hour. I then cranked it again for like 15 sec and replaced the plugs. I put the relay back and tried it again and still no go. Any more suggestions. Tomorrow I am shipping it off to Rotorsports to get thier diagnosis because I don't have a whole lot of time to spend in the parking lot here at UNCC working on it. I spent all weekend out there trying new starters and finally replacing the old one. I have heard of using ATF but I am wiery and don't have any access to it at the current time.

I want to thank everybody for their help but it seems as the worst has come to fruition. It seems that something has let go in the motor. It has lost compression according to my mechanic at Rotorsports. The motor is only 4 months old and now I have to re-evaluate my commitment to this vehicle.
I really love this car but it has caused me nothing but head and heartaches. This is all after only owning her a year. I am thinking of trading her in or maybe selling her off to buy something that more people can work on and is more reliable i.e. Supra TT or Camaro SS. This is my daily driver and I can't afford to have her in the shop a quarter of the time. I guess I will have to think long and hard over the next couple of weeks about what route to take.
