Question Getting it running- differences between Japan & US 13B-REW?

My FD has been sitting for years now, and i'd like to get her running again.

I need to source a blown engine so I can take all of the accessories, sensors and piping. I can easily find Japanese Engines, but US engines are harder to find complete.

Are there any differences in the sensors on the Japanese engine?

The core short block is identical. Some of the external parts are slightly different - ie, lower intake manifold doesn't have provision for EGR, the upper manifold doesn't have the AWS solenoid, etc.

Used Japanese engines are a crapshoot as far as how good the motor and parts attached will be. But, if you need all the external engine parts, that's a damn cheap way to get them.

Also, not a good idea to drop in a "complete" engine as-is, unless you know the history (ie, just pulled out of a wrecked car or something). It's a good idea to tear the external components down, test, and reassemble.

Not to worry, I don't need the core at all, just the outer accessories.

My FD has a long unfortunate history associated with it...I had removed most of the upper accessories beyond the rat's nest to replace the engine harness. I had all the parts, hoses, and other plastic pieces in my garage....and the garage caught on fire in an unrelated summer accident and took the parts.

The AWS is unecessary, I still have LIM, so that should be good. Luckily, my coilpacks, throttle body, and tps remained intact.

Mostly just trying to get all of the smaller plastic pieces, hoses, sensors and solenoids in one shot.
