Getting ready for rebuild and single turbo!

I finally got my engine and transmission out last night. 2 things to make sure to do if you are doing engine and tranny removal is make sure to pull out the shifter and drain the tranny. I forgot to do this and made a nice oil slick on my garage floor. Here are a few pics of my progress. Also if anyone know of where to find out how to replace the 5th gear syncro it would be helpful.

Just curious, how did the transmission come apart from teh driveshaft. I left my tranny in when I took my engine out, and I was trying to get it apart last night and it wouldn't budge. I took off the 2 21mm(?) bolts from the ppf and the two crossmemebers. Does the driveshaft just slide out or what? Thanks, and nice job, but she's a little dirty

There are a total of 4 nuts holding the PPF to the tranny then make sure you have the shifter removed and the drive shaft will slide apart from the tranny. Time to get the grease remover out and wash down the engine compartment.
