Getting closer...throttle help needed...

Okay, I am pretty sure I can rule out that my 500 miles reman has low compression without even testing it because at op. temp, 900-1000 RPM, I am getting 16-17mm/hg(don't think I would get that with low compression) My TPS is spec'd out properly, as is the ISC and the Map sensor. Here is the issue still:

I have a smooth idle for the most part, however, I still think I have a vac leak or something. as soon as I tap the gas to raise the idle, it will be pretty choppy upto 1500 when I let off....as soon as I let off, the idle wants to go to about 1200. I noticed that sometimes, I will get a nice big cloud of dark smoke after I rev it up a few times and I can get rid of it by adjusting the air screw under the TB to lean it out some. Also, I can be idling, and set up foot light on the pedal and start to slowing raise the rpms...as soon as it gets to about 1500, it will choke and knock itself back down to about 1000, then go back to 1500, then choke and back to 1000 (All this time i am keeping a constant pressure on the accelerator)

I replaced a few hoses that appeared to have small tears or holes in them and it seemed to help smooth it a little, but there are still these issues. I did spray brake cleaner around the UIM gasket and around the block offs for the airpump and ACV, and instead of having a vac leak and RAISING the idle, it bogs the idle down

So...can the crank angle sensor cause these issues? Any other ideas anyone can think of?

Also, when I am cranking the motor to start it, it will crank nice and smooth for about 2 seconds, then choke, then smooth out and start...any idea on the choking?

I have a gutted cat and I removed the ACV and capped off the airpump and blocked the airpump pipe ports on the LIM. Also unplugged the Airpump...just serves as a pully now...could this cause the rough idle and bucking I am referring to?
