Getting back into an RX

Ok it's been a while since I sold my RX and since I have been here so here I go.
Their's a silver 93 with 8500 miles on the entire car (not a replacment motor) for $21000. I sold my RX to get a 98 Cobra but I came across some unexpected $ and paied the Cobra off. I want to get this RX and unline my old one build this motor (mildly) The first thing I want to do (other than a boost gauge) is to setup a new exhaust. Now here's the question, Do I need to get a fuel managment system if I start with just an exhaust (will be straight through no cat). If so what brand and what am I looking for cost (It's been a while since I kept up with this stuff, had my face in American parts lately).
Any response would be great,
Thanks.

1 word of advice, decide how you want to do it, and do it ONE time, and do it right.

Three options.

Exhaust, Intake, EGT, mild porting, Fuel Pump, and small boost pressure increase, stock ECU Tuned.

or

Power FC, Exhaust, Intake, EGT, any porting basically, Fuel Pump, Injectors, larger boost pressure increases.

or

Haltech with all same.

depends on power you want, if you go first option, 10-12 pounds of boost is all you will/should run.

I don't believe you'll need a fuel management system for just an exhaust replacement, however it won't hurt.

The main problem you will run into running without a cat (straight through mid-pipe) is boost creep. Especially once you open up the intake after doing the exhaust.

If I were you, I would skip the mid-pipe until you are ready to deal with some more things to keep the boost creep down. I would go with Pettit's Base Performance package first:

http://www.pettitracing.com/sections/Base_System.html

and then add a Boost Guage on to that. After that, replace or eliminate the AST and move on from there to an aftermarket ECU.

If you get rid of the main cat you should do a computer upgrade
