generic vs brand name intakes

Just looking around...of course the ebay question arises again. I know why go with ebay when you're not sure but how much of a difference could be in intakes? I know the filter Could matter, but then couldn't I just pick up a k&n filter to fit? I mean the pipes can't be that much different....or can they? Anyone tried the ebay intakes? just looking for some comparison and my search tool is messed up

one more question though....short ram air vs a full intake? aren't they both pulling warm air so in theory a short one would be better no? unless you vent the hood somehow?

In reality (with the stock twins), it doesn't matter what intake you get. They will all pretty much perform the same. Just get the one you think "looks" the best and what you want your engine bay to look like.
