Gear problems

Hey guys I have a 92 series6 fd (im from aus, so 92 is current shape.)

I only just bought my car very recently and just wanted some help with a gearshift problem.

My problem occurs when i try to quick shift from 2nd to 3rd the gear wont engage properly and all i get is *crunch* which i know is very bad for my car . The problem only occurs when i try to quickshift and not when driving normally, i was just hoping on some help with the problem, is it just my car?

btw. the clutch was replaced around 30000km ago if that makes a difference, thnx for any help you can give

Sounds like a synchro. Although i had the same thing with quiqcshifting from 1st to 2nd and i thought it was a synchro, BUT eventually someone told me it might was me and didn't press the clutch all the way down before quiqcshift and that was it. Now i quickshift very smooth qithout grindings. Try your 2nd at redline step on the clutch petal all the way down and then quickshift. If still grinds then you'll have to change the synchro.

Also if eventually is a synchro before change it try some good synthetic oil in the gearbox first. If your synchro is not very bad then it shoul stop grinding with that. Otherwise.......

get some good synthetic tranny oil in there like redline and get used to the shifting b4 doing some more damage to that synchro. redline mtl helps make shifting smoother
