gauges with black face, but light up blue
is there such a thing? I searched and found a lot of stuff on reverse EL gauges and white face gauges that light up blue.
What I am trying to do is maintain a stock look during the day but have it light up blue at night. If anyone has a good idea on how to accomplish I would appreciate the help. Thanks.

Are you talking about replacing the entire gauge cluster or just after market gauges like boost and water temp? Apexi EL gauges with the black face look exactly how you describe.

I'm interested in having stock gauges that light up blue at night if possible, but I'd be willing to change to a white gauge background if anyone has the link to a place that would sell the stuff to do that.
Thanks

i have seen a few sets on ebay that are white and light up blue.
Is it possible to make the stock gauges light blue? I know the answer is probably no. I would assume that the amber color is provided by a translucent layer of plastic on the backside of the gauge versus via amber colored light bulbs.
this place will do the gauges, but they require 25 preorders and i think a set of gauges before they will tool up. The sets run about $100. They will do any kinda custom designs or colors that you can think of from what the site says. it looks like they make custom 2" gauges.

take out the stock gauge cluster and use a soldering iron to remove the red leds...then put in blue ones? i dont know if thsi would work, but if it uses LEDs, then it would.

the stock gauges dont use LEDs they use lightbulbs. you cant replace the bulbs with leds. ok i shouldnt say CANT but it isnt easy. you would need multiple leds per bulb. and then you have to deal with the coloring present in the gauge faces which is orange.
ive been wanting to convert my stock gauges to red EL and it shouldnt be too hard but i dont really think blue would work.

Try www.blackcatcustom.com .They can make custom gauge faces with different colors/backlighting, etc. They are making a set of replacement gauge faces for my HKS meters (to match my white face/red back lit NR gauge faces that I modified to backlight red).

everyone should check out that www.blackcatcustom.com that dclin recommended. I emailed them, so I am not sure if they will be able to do it, but from their site it looks like they can produce just about any color foreground/backlight combo that you want. Thanks for the heads up dclin
does anyone actually have a set of their gauges installed already? what do you think of the quality?

also I know about the aftermarkets like Autometer Cobalts and the Blitz. They are nice gauges, but I am looking for replacements for my stock gauges.
Just my personal opinion, but I am not too happy with the pale orange that comes in the stock gauges. plus it doesn't match my cd player.
