Gauge question

I have a defi d-link etg new in the box. It is reading a 6 for 600 degrees. I am assuming the gauge is malfunctioning and needs to be sent back. Is thins normal behavior for the gauge?

Thanks

Just did some research and saw that it resets itself when powered up. Has anyone had a gauge that did not read zero outta the box and fix itself when powered up. I only see posts where it continued to malfunction. Hooking up the etg is way to much work to have the pull the damn thing back out, esp when you got the triple pod a piller with 6,000 wires behind it. Took me most of the day to get that bitch on. Gonna freak if I got to rip it off again because of a faulty gauge.

Thanks!
