gauge advice

ok rx7 brethren need some advice i have a gorgeous 94 R2 and am really starting to get the modifying fever i certainly don't want to go ricey (although i have painted the interior panels to match the car) question is should i need some guages (only running a blitz boost guage now) or do i?lucky for me i bought the car with a power FC already installed unfortunately it didn't come with the commander. should i skip the guages and just buy the commander unit? is that enough, and where do i buy just that unit it seems to only come with the PFC.

You should absolutely buy the Commander. Jason at rx7store.net has it for $270. So for about the price of a good Apexi or Greddy gauge you get all sorts of cool stuff. With it you'll be able to monitor boost, water temp, injector duty, the O2 sensor, speed, RPM, knock, and more. You can raise and lower your boost, and tweak things as you mod your car. There's no question, buy it.

Some people like to have separate gauges for quick reference, like boost and water temp. Or gauges for things not shown by the Commander, like Exhaust Gas Temp (EGT) or Air/Fuel mix (though the O2 sensor tells you this).

Have fun.
