gas ordor from driver side rear wheel well
search results dont apply to my situation.
its not a strong gas smell but its enough to notice. the windows have to be open and very rarely do i smell it when i come to a stop, i usually get a wiff when i pull it into the garage. it will go away after about 15 min. its been the strongest after i autocross.
i def only smell it from the driver side rear wheel.
troubleshooting:
-i primed fuel pump and circulated fuel(cold car)..no smell
-tank has great pressure, opening cap make long pfffffft sound.
-in hatch where fuel pump access is reveals no smell(stuck my nose right in there)
-jacked up car, removed wheel and fender liner, filler neck looks good, everything tight
-everything looks good underneath by visual inspection
you would expect the smell to be near the filler neck but i think its stronger near the front half of the wheel well.....
could these symptoms be the charcoal canister? do they "fill" up?
how bout fuel filter?
what do i need to look at? any other ideas guy?
thank you.

given that location, i'd definitely take a look at the charcoal canister and check to verify if the fuel filter is leaking. It is rare that anything in that area leaks though.
