Fuel system shot...bad luck streak

Guys please help me understand this.

Picked up car from the shop when the replaced subframe and tank was below E w/ light on, I then filled it up with 10 gallons and it only raised to a cm above E

Drove it 1 mile to body shop. Picked it up this morning and took it for more gas....added another 7 gallons until it stopped pumping and it the gauge stayed the same

When i went to start the car it ran at the gas station it cranked and ran for 3 seconds and died instantly.

Fuel pressure gauge reads 0, priming diagnostics does not yeild fuel pressure, and level gauge is still at E even though it has a full tank

- popped trunk and the fuel pump cover was missing all 6 bolts but everything under it was connected

-pulled plugs and definately NOT flooded

I do have the fuel pump rewire under the hood, what could possibly be the cause
Bad pump? Do they just GO OUT instantly?
Bad wiring?? I thought the rewire bypasses the fuses etc and ignition switch?
Shop messed up fuel tank or something and its blocking fuel from the pump sock?

I towed it back to the shop and going to have them explain y the fuel pump cover was off

Connections "could" look fine but id double check it anyway. Then turn the key to on and go back and see if it turns on.

And id check the fuel pump relay.

Check the fuel pump "re-wire." Obviously the level sensor is either stuck or **** the bucket. I would take the assembly out of the tank and look it all over.

well i checked over my connections to the rewire very well.

can the fuel level sensor get stuck at the bottom of the tank? how much is a new one?

with the rewire, does this bypass the ignition switch? what should I check on the circuit?

It seems like the wiring is bad because I went to crank the car, when it ran for a few seconds, it died like I pulled the circuit relay....i just dont understand this...is there any linkage of this to the subframe install?

Its weird the the fuel pump cover was unscrewed and loose
