Fuel smell at heavy throttle

1993 mazda rx7 FD3S JDM
Stock twins, a few mods but none on the fuel system

Lately when i apply heavy throttle there is a strong smell of fuel that seems to be comming from the engine bay. I have new spark plugs, and the fuel filter is located by the rear differential. Im not sure where to look?
Is this a common problem?
Im thinking maybe a fouled injector?
Thanks for the help.

Most likely a leaking fuel pulsation dampener (FPD).

I would not drive the car until you find the source.

Check for any fuel leaks under the UIM and also check the PCV:

There could be a boost leak or gasket problem at the LIM to engine (at one of the secondary ports on the end plates). The intake charge is wet at this point and would smell of gas under boost if leaked.

I just read through your thread, that sounds exactly like my problem. I wrote down the part number you posted. Is it just called a check valve?

Speed of light
That could definatly be a posibilty because i do have a boost leak right now that I couldnt find when i ripped apart the upper intake. Sounds like thats going to take a bit more work, Ill replace this check valve and keep my fingers crossed.

Yes. It's an aluminum check valve. Just remove it and see if the valve is still working (i.e. see if you cannot blow through both sides).
