Heya guys, just got my car back from my tuner after dynoing it and whilst at the pertrol station i thought i'ld check the oil, as i took off the cap i saw a few bubbles on the cap as if some water got into it or something and the inside the oil cap theres this orangey stuff, i then smelt the cap and it smells like a bit of petrol?! Anybody had this before?

Summary of the threads. Yep it is pretty much normal for FD's. Change you oil every 2000 miles (3200Km) or less and forget about it.

 

that is a hard thing to search for. i couldn't find anything when i searched for it earlier this year.

in short, yes it is ok. that gunk is probably whitish/yellowish in color, right? it appears to happen due to condensation from the oil getting hot as well as atmospheric conditions.

your oil might smell a bit like petrol/gas right now due to the tuning. i'm sure your tuner probably experimented with adding more fuel to increase your Air/Fuel ratios and some made it into your oil. change your oil/filter and you should be ok.
