fuel regulator vs. EDU upgrade

I have a 93 RX-7, the power level is getting to the point where I need to start being concerned with increasing the amount of fuel flow to the engine. Most of the information that I have read suggests that the best way to increase fuel flow would be through the use of an aftermarket ECU (e.g. Haltech, PFS, Apex Power FC, Motec, etc.). I have not read much about increasing fuel pressure to compensate for the addition air flow requirements. Incresing fuel pressure (up to about 80 psi max) in my experience has been a very simple and reliable way of adding fuel to an engine that has increased airflow. There are a couple of ways that I have added fuel using additional fuel pressure. One is with a standard 1:1 ratio regulator that uses engine boost/vacuum for increase or decrease in fuel pressure much like the stock comfiguration. The other way I have commomly used is with a variable ratio regulator or FMU. this allows you to run stock fuel pressures at low and no boost levels where a turbo engine has a tendancy to run rich and once the engine hits full boost increase fuel pressure as a multiple of engine boost (e.g. 2:1). I do realize that a aftermarket ECU gives you much more tuning flexability. Does anyone have any insight into how this method of increasing fuel flow will work on a rotary motor with primary and secondary injectors. Any input would be appreciated.
