Fuel Pump won't pump

My rx7 has issues with the factor alarm and I've been bypassing it. but recently i went to turn her on and she stayed on for 5 seconds, then turned off. then stayed on for 2 seconds. dealer said it was the fuel pump and wanted $700. i took my car back. Fuel pump works when I connected it directly to the battery. I just don't hear it when its plugged in and I turn the ignition. Car won't push start so I'm positive it's not the factory alarm. I tested continuity to the pump as well. All looks good.

you may have a blown fuse even , maybe check the egi fuse , i cant see why an alarm system would keep the car from starting for a few sec and then not starting

if the ecu doesnt see the engine turning it's not going to turn the pump on. when you first turn the key on the ecu will then turn the pump on for a few seconds then until the engine starts turning over then the fuel pump will pump.

How exactly do I test continuity on a fuse this big? I tried connecting the tester to two of the connectors at a time and never got a reading.
