Fuel Pump Resistor in or out?

Did anyone remove the fuel pump resistor beneath the brake booster that give the fuel pump 10v of power below app. 3000 RPM's even though they run an aftermarket Fuel pump?

I may be wrong but from what I understand the resistor lowers the current draw of the pump when the car is under idle and maybe light crusing. I bypassed my resistor when I went haltech only because it is controlled by the stock computer, which I wasn't using any more. If you are using the stock computer or the PFC, I would recommend leaving the resistor in the ciruit.
