Question Fuel pump power problem

Hi. My fuel pump is not getting power and i went down the line of things i can think of and still no luck.
I pulled the pump and jumped it directly from the pump and it worked. i jumped it from the 1st plug that screws on directly from the pump and it worked now where that first plug plugs into i jumped it from there and it works, i jumped it from the relay up front and it works, but when everything is pluged in and i turn the key no power. Now i know i have my electric fans jumped from the ground wire this way i know my fans are on all the time as long as the key is on the on position. Would this work temporary fix so i can get the car somewhere so it can be repaired and if so which wire to i jump so that it turns on only when the key is on? thanks for all your help.
