fuel pump install questions

I ordered the hi flow fuel pump from Ray, its the Nippondenso one on his web site so I assume its the cosmo fuel pump. I go through the procedure of releasing fuel pressure, take the hoses and connectors off, raise up the pump assembly. I then take the positive and negative off. take the pump off and take the fuel sock off and place it on the new one. Put the rubber grommet and top from the old one off and put it on the new one, electrical connectors are put back on, drop everything back in place, hoses on, prime the fuel system. Car cranks, runs for a sec, goes dead, cranks goes dead. take everything back out, check everything again, LOOKS correct, drop it back in, same as before. Pissed, I take it out, change everything back over to the old stock fuel pump, put it back on, drop it in, prime the system. Same damn thing. What little thing am I looking over? Rob's how to site doesn't have the fuel pump so I'm looking at Steve's site now.

Any ideas?

Wires are on correct?

As Bacon says, change the fuse. The install for my pump was as you described, but haven't had problems.

Hope you figure it out.

I figured it out. The grommet type connector that goes between the pump and hard pick up line wasn't on correctly and fuel was spraying out , back into the tank and not into the line. Its good to go now
