Question Fuel pressure question

I'm in the middle of doing a turbo swap ( S6 for S7 ) and while I've got all the turbo + manifold off I,ve decided to take the LIM off to check for , what I suspect , may be a small leak form a gasket.
The problem is now I've decided to do this I cant start the car to run through the fuel pressure release procedure ( I'm using the robbinette site) which I need to do to get the LIM off.
Can I just maybe take the fuel cap off and risk a bit of spillage and try to quickly plug the hoses instead?

cheers

loosen the banjo bolt on the fuel rail slowly, there won't that much fuel. Especially if the car has been sitting more than a day

Should be fine to just disconnect the lines then. Ive never had a problem with more than a few CCs of fuel spilling out whenever disconnecting the fuel rail lines if the car has been sitting for a day or two.

It'll be fine. Just be careful about creating sparks.

Think about how much gas leaks everywhere when you change the fuel filter... lol
