Fuel level sending unit compatibility

Tried searching, haven't been able to find a direct answer, so I was curious as to if anyone has run across this issue personally. According to the parts catalog, for 1994 and 1995, manual and auto cars have a different fuel level sending unit. However, the Automatic car fuel level sending unit is no longer available through mazda, and I have had no luck finding one third party.

Does anyone know for a fact if the 94-95 fuel level senders for a five speed will work in a 94-95 auto car, or what will need to be done to make it fit?

There may be a difference in the manual and auto fuel tanks - the autos may have larger capacity or something.

I don't know for certain on the 94-95, but I know for certain that the 93's are interchangeable.

I have noticed that a large majority of the automatic FD parts had different part numbers but were identical when you compared them. An example is the alternator had a different part number but it's the same part. The TPS sensor being another example. Even the fuse box has a different part number!

It appears that they simply labeled the parts differently for some reason. It's also possible that it's only my car that was that way.
