Fuel leak problem on driver's side of engine?
I smell it after a drive when I put it in the garage and let it sit, smell comes from the tbody elbow / alternator area, nothing on the passenger side where the dampner / rails are... anyone ever had this problem?
The fuel hoses do run up from the drivers side of the engine bay and then under the TB/UIM over to the fuel rail. It could be possible to have a leak.
Also, there is fuel dillution in the oil on rotaries. If it's been a while since your last oil change, your oil will smell like fuel. If you have an oil leak, it can actually smell like a fuel leak.

Or..... sounds to me like your fuel vapor catch tank is disconnected. You can find it by pulling the elbow off the TB, the bottom two nuts also hold a black cylinder in place. This is the catch tank. One line goes to a nipple on the front of the UIM and the other line gets connected to a pipe that runs back to the charcoal canister.
Just verify that both lines are hooked up and uncracked.

Better yet. Pressurize your fuel system with the motor not running and find the origin of the leak. And don't park the car in the garage after a run until you do. You may wake to a fire working its way through your house.
