Fuel hose leak n3a1-13-s70

I took my FD into the dealership today to see if the fuel leak would be covered on the warranty since the dealership put an engine in in DEC. Unfortunatly it was not covered on warranty for some reason, even though recall says if this line is disconnected to replace it.... Somehow the dealership wanted $80 for me to even take the car out of there...all I had was $74 at the time and they accepted. So I guess I need to contact Ray at Malloy Mazda to figure out how much he can get this $100 hose for, right? Also does anyone have any information on how to replace this hose? Is this a serious fire hazard? Also they said there could be a leak in one of the injector o-rings?

That part number is for the fuel line recall kit, which contains several fuel hoses. Ray charges $75 or so for the kit. I would imagine that the labour charge for this would be $300+ if you don't do it yourself.

These hoses should have been replaced by the dealer when they installed the new engine if they had not been replaced as part of a recall before.

Really, going to a Mazda dealer with these cars is a mistake.

Yea I knew it was a mistake, but I was going to let them fix it if it was under warranty. If I needed a new engine I would have done it myself. So do you think there is a way I can get a dealership to replace it since it should have been done with a new engine installation?

The original car would have had a standard rubber fuel hose between the primary and secondary fuel rail - the upgrade kit has a metal hose. If you still have the original rubber hose, I would demand that they replace the original hoses as they should have done this when installing a new engine. However, you will have to take off the UIM off to find out.
