Fuel help please!!???
Fuel help please!!???
Car: 93, MT, stock motor, bunch of bolt-on stuff, stock turbos.
Problem: just rebuilt the motor and the car starts & idles fine. No load drive-off is fine. As soon as there is load the car bogs and will not build additional RPMs. The boging happens btw 3500 & 4000 RPMs depending on how heavy I'm on the throttle. When the bogging occurs, the WB 02 goes full lean.
Having searched the forum for assistance, Max (along with others) have pointed to the Secondary Injectors as the primary cause of these symptoms. The Injectors have been cleaned and tested. Someone had posted a good description of how the secondaries are controlled (unfortunately I can't find it). Can someone describe this? At this point I'm willing to replace everything associated with this functionality in order to fix the problem. Btw, is there a way to check the wiring of the secondaries w/o getting at the plugs? (eg, grounding at the ECU and confirming that they fire?)
Any other thoughts?
I sincerely appreciate any and all input.

If you think it's the secondaries you'll obviously need to verify that they're connected. Is the engine harness in good shape? Is the FPR hooked up properly? I'm pretty sure there's a vacuum solenoid connected to it.
If it's not the secondaries be sure your knock sensor is hooked up/well connected.
Can't think of anything. Good luck

Fritz thanks for the reply... the connectors to the secondaries are tight. The FPR is hooked-up correctly. Not sure about the harness from the ECU to the connectors. Is there a way to test this w/o taking the UIM off? Can you ground the secondaries from the ECU and confirm they fire?
Btw, I had a hell of a time trying to start the thing after priming the fuel...I obviously flooded it. I took the plugs-out (removed the circuit relay) spun the engine to clear the fuel out of the chambers, cleaned the plugs, etc... and cranked the crap out of it w/ no luck. I then hooked-up the Twin Power and it started immediately...thanks!
