First where do plan on relocating it?

I would personally do the bolt with the tapped hole but if i couldnt do that i would use the bolt and nut method second.

I use the nut and bolt method because the subframe is thin and useing 6mm .1 pitch tap will not leave very many threads in the hole . I use a nyloc nut and have never had any of them come loose . Good skill to you .

Use a pair of large clamps to secure it to the bottom front section of the rear subframe, tuck it out of the way so it's safe from road debris. stick a section of rubber in between the filter and the frame.

this project has got to go on hold, due to the fact that apparently noone in the entire charleston metro area has a fuel filter for an FD BULLSHIT!

Get used to it. Most places stock two things for FDs....jack and ****.

Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda is your friend, 888 533 3400. You're close to him so you'll usually get next day shipping, he offers club pricing, and he owns a modded FD so just describe to him what you want

buy a miata fuel filter, exactly the same except for a slight bend in the outlet.

I get the filters for the ones I put in at Advanced Auto Parts for under $ 10 .Check the micron size and the pressure rate . I do not like the 180 degree bend in the stock part.,My system does not have a 90 degree bend fitting in it .
