I have that cheapo bar as well, and it's kinda elevated at the ends, so it's not completely flat.

It has a somewhat oval cross section with a hollow center.

Yeah it's not completely flat, but close to it. The bar has a slight curve to it to allow for clearance of the intercooler piping, but I had to use washers because it was pushing down on some of the intercooler pipes.

I bought mine from EBAY for 19.00 + shipping. Its every bit as good as the cusco stb. I thought it would be junk or not fit right. High quality, brand new and cheap.

You'd probably have better luck listing it in the classifieds section.

Okay I went ahead and bought this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2425953907 and the friggin thing won't fit! Those of you that have bought the driving gear bar could you take a pic so I can see it installed. I know it's a simple install I just want to make sure it's not on my end before I send it back.

Oh, and another thing anyone have any tips on how to retrieve a lost nut. The driver's side nut for the bar I accidently dropped and have not found it yet :/

I assume the bolt pattern is the same for the R1 and the Touring no?

Here's a pic of mine. It was a tad tight, but it fits.

I think the pic is too big to post on here. You might have to copy and paste it to another window. I know, big hassle but hey, it's 2am.

Yes, that does look good. My problem are the actual "brackets" that you bolt the bar to point towards the radiator and not straight across. Did you purchase it from Megan Racing on Ebay? I wonder what my options are...

No problem. The brackets eh? There's no other way they'll go on except when they point toward the radiator? Perhaps you got the wrong bar then. Or maybe they're on backwards. When I received mine I immediately began to get mad because the holes were way off, then I noticed the ends were on the wrong sides and I had to switch them out. I got mine from ebay, I don't remember who the seller was, but it looks like the same exact ad as the one you posted. Freakily identical.

Mine gets delivered tomorrow. It's the 45mm R1 type. I'll do the install when I get home and post a pic of it on this thread.

I bought one on ebay for a second gen. and it was soo cheap! The bolt snapped while tightening. Also the stamped metal where the end are welded to the plates are soo thin. I really don't think the one I purchased helps at all.

My friend bought a FD one (ebay) and it was much more beefy.

I tried every which way. From the looks of your pic the brackets should be on the front side of the engine bay. It's the Driving Gear one from Ebay.

I got a number to them, but they're positive they sent me the right one. I mean come on how hard could it be to install :P I seriously doubt its on my end.

You're right, it's not like it's rocket science Well ask them to change it out regardless of what they think. At worst, you could find out what car it goes to and sell it.

Only if you want to spend a lot of money for the Mazda logo. The OEM performance is not measurably better.

I have to admit I bought the R1 bar off JT-Imports for $186.50, but you gotta love the RX-7 emblem in the middle
