I'm in the same situation, although I got pulled for no front plate and ended up with a fix-it ticket for the exhaust. A mustang friend showed me a mount he bought that reaches in from the front and grabs the bumper lip, but I haven't bothered setting something up along the same lines.

I'm dealing with this too, I've got mine sitting in the front window, I've also got an R1 so with dual oil coolers it's not gonna go over one of the gaps in the bumper, I'm at a loss. I'm just glad I haven't been pulled over yet, tho I can't get a ticket for my exhaust here, thank god.

If you can handle the look you could always get the braw and fabricate a plate holder for it that wouldnt screw up your paint.

After searching the forums for a suitable solution that wouldn't require me to drill holes in my front bumper and wouldn't restrict too much airflow, I purchased the "license bracket" from Parts.com:

http://www.parts.com/oemcatalog/inde...layCatalogid=0

Since I live in NY, I didn't want to give the cops another reason to pull my car over. The cost was $56.47 which isn't cheap, but it's designed specifically for our car. It mounts to the underside of the top of the front bumper. I even installed rubber pads where it meets the bumper to prevent scraping. I won't be near my car for a day in case you need pictures.

Ray at Malloy Mazda can get you the same part and is probably faster with shipping, but might charge a few dollars more, not sure.

the only thing that we are legally required to have on our cars are mufflers (no size specifications) and BOTH license plates unless it is a CLASSIC (25+ years old) car with plates from the year the car was sold, then it only needs the rear one. We can have as large and loud of mufflers as we want to as long as it's on, but we can still get disturbing the peace tickets for them. Nebraska doesn't have inspection laws, smog laws, anything like that. Hell we can have ricer colored headlights, blue, purple, green, whatever.

I like that idea, the only problem is where that would be mounted to was cut out to make room for all of our FMICs
