I wouldnt recommend it. This is a twin turbo car, and you'll be creating turbulence very close to the turbines. You can buy used downpipes for 50 bucks now, pick one of those up.
I thought the non-US models had no catalytic element in the downpipe.
If it does, then I think the only reasonable way to do it is to cut it in half then weld it back together.

Prob is I think LHD downpipes are slightly different to the RHD ones and it hits something down there unfortunately
