Front lower control arm ball joint

Just installed new lower control arm bushings and a new ball joint boot packed with fresh grease. When I went to go re-install the lower control arm onto the car and tighten the castle nut on the ball joint stud, the ball joint stud keeps spinning and will not allow me to tighten the nut. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem or if you guys have a possible solution?

I have already tried using a impact gun and also using a pry bar to put pressure on the control arm so the stud wont spin but nothing seems to work. The stud just keeping spinning with castle nut. Please help!!

Yes I did. You have to put pressure on it. I used a 2 jaw press. Worked very well.

Use a jack to load the arm a bit to seat it. It shouldn't requite much pressure.
