Anyone know who's car that was by chance? He called me up as the car was being auctioned and it went for $8500 ! It was silver with Red int. R1 single turbo with a blown clutch. It also had a SMIC and big exhaust along with 18" rims. It sold in a matter of 3 minutes. He should've bought it instead of calling me up hehe !

Although it sounded like a good deal...it was sold under a "Red Light" perhaps bec. of the clutch which was the only thing announced as it was being sold. They did say the engine was running. However, it could've had a blown engine with an apex seal that could've fragged out and ate up the single turbo as well. No body damage listed and carfax report was clean. Oh well, I told him to buy the next one he sees.

yea I'd be scared to bid on a "red light" FD with a "blow clutch" yea right, its prob got a bad motor. If the motor was good its a steal!!!
You really cant compare auction prices with street prices, espcially for a RX7. Dealers are scared to buy them because of the reliability issues so the auction prices are usually dirt. If you ever find a good clean on at a auction the dealer that get it usually makes a fortune on it!!!!
