Found a Seven...

How much do you think a Rx7 with the specs is worth? Hes asking 13,000 obo...i have an idea, but cant post any pics.

My car is a '94 touring, Montego Blue, tan leather, ~121k on the car, and right around 11k on a stock reman from Mears Mazda (broken in by ME, not the dealership). Mods are not major, just the reliability stuff:

metal ast
performance aluminum radiator
greddy bov
bonez DP/Hi-flow cat combo
greddy power-extreme catback
new alternator
5-way adjustable Tokico shocks front and rear
miata thermo-switch
VIS carbon fiber vented hood (Still have original)
greddy turbo timer
dual a-pillar gauge pod with boost and water temps both greddy
REAL '99 spec tail lights
new tires with about 5000 miles on them
and it has just recently had all its fluids replaced for its 115k mile service

I've changed the oil regularly before 2,500 miles for the almost two years I have owned it. I have all paperwork for the above mods and the new engine. The mods were done at Rotary Performance in the Dallas area and the engine was done here in Lubbock.

The interior is almost perfect, no obvious wear anywhere and I have all the accessories that go with the car, moon roof cover, center divider for between the hatch and cabin, all bose speakers (the rear tube speaker is going bad though), rear hatch cover, and mazda car cover. As far as the exterior, it is the only problem with the car, the paint is faded in two spots on the roof and the there are a couple parking lot door dings on the side. Also just recently the seatbelt warning light has started not turning off after you buckle up, shouldn't be a big problem and I'll probably get it fix shortly. Overall it's a great car, starts great, idles great and pulls hard. I think thats about it, pics are below, if you want some specific ones I can get them taken

Sorry if i just started a useless thread...it'll be my last.

To me 13k sounds pretty reasonable.

The asking price of 13K seem to be fair. The car has a low mileage engine that is worth probably $4-5K installed and about $3K in mods. So, if the interior is near perfect and the body is also good (two little dings) I'd day its a good price.

I would still have an expert FD mechanic check it out for engine compression, undercarriage, suspension wear etc...

Good luck,

Albert

I agree. These cars' prices are on the rise. If the high chassis mileage doesn't bother you, it seems like the more important mods have been addressed. Go for it.

I wouldn't worry so much about suspension wear. We all know after so many years there's tons of bushing to replace. If any of them have been replace, that would be a good selling point and reason to jack up the price. I don't know about you, but for me replacing suspension bushings is a PITA!

I'd worry more about rust and damage to the under carriage from the car "bottoming out".

Oh yeah, check for oil leaks. No reason to not buy the car for a few oil leaks, but it makes for a good bargaining position. I'd actually get under the car and check for oil around the oil pan and cross member.
