Found out why my A/C doesn't work
As I was proceeding with the R&R of my engine, I noticed something that didn't look right. I guess now I know why my A/C isn't working! LOL
MAKE SURE that what ever one you buy came off the same model/year as your car. Some years/models are interchangeable, but just to be safe. I ended up buying three of the larger line that runs parallel to the one you need.
You can also repair the line, depending upon the extent of damage. Compression fittings or flare unions are good for this type of field repair, especially if it's inconvenient or difficult to change the entire line.

I'm getting a quote for $100 new from Mazda itself...not sure if I'm going to bite the bullet on that one. Pretty expensive to me but summer is coming around....

Yea, you can get fittings in the better auto parts stores and the more industrial ones (like NAPA). Home Depot also has a good selection in the plumbing dept too. Tubing normally goes by its OD size, so be sure and accurately measure the line you have. (If you want, I can check one of the lines I have out and tell you what I think it is.)
So it needs a recharge? I guess that was an understatement....
I don't know what refrigerant was in your system, but it will be absolutely necessary to pull a hard vacuum on it for a few hours to draw out any moisture that may be in the system and remove all of the air before it is recharged. Oh, and to check for leaks, as well.
