Well it doesn't say FEED on it and it's not green, but it's exactly the same.

"Imported from Japan, these units require slight modification to fit U.S. spec vehicles equipped with ABS. I provide modification/installation instructions with each order."

Sounds like fun.

Have Garfinkle make you one. Using only two mounting bolts (the two stock holes there) has been known to crack the fender wall. His is a solid brace, 6 mounting points, and a solid brace that really works. Like $85 or so.

People got it to work.
Garfinkle's brace is nice, but I like this one because it's a damper.

Poor design for the fender bracket. The rod mounting hole is weak. Note how little material is around the hole [arrow.] An observation FWIW
Might be worth it to buy the "kit" just to get the piston and fab a proper bracket of your own.
Regards,
Crispy

i also noticed that when i found this on ebay a couple days back...

i don't want to flame on anyone but the material looks a little cheap and not thick enough to support the force that's going to be pushing on it. even though a damper is being used, that fender bracket will eventually wear down, bend and/or break if it's as weak as it looks

Just for anyone who's considering these, they may "look" like dampners, but they are in fact not. The FEED braces are not dampners, they are solid pieces that DO NOT give. Just a heads up.

Oh, and by looking closer at the pic, they are IDENTICAL as the FEED and HPI braces, just without the writing on them. Great part for the money.

Garfinkle's torque brace is 10x better than any other. Absolutly no vibrations with rubber bushings at booth ends, and VERY sturdy. It's also less than half the price of most. I'm not really sure why someone would buy a flimsy expensive brace.

i have a real feed brace and this thing looks almost exactly the same. also my brace fit perfect with no mods. i have a 93 touring. i believe the cars that need to be modded are the 95's because they use a different abs unit.

From his emai:

"These things are EXACTLY identical. I think we went directly to FEED's source. Except these are red and blue, not green. These are mucho cheaper in price. SAME build and design as the FEED.

Mine is a 93. If you don't drill new holes, the strut hits an ABS bolt/line. There's other ways to make it fit, like add washers to the bracket that bolts to the engine. But, this way, the bar is perpendicular to the engine and car frame."

FEED's braces are made by the same company that makes HPI's and these, presumably. If you use ABS, regardless of model yeah, you will need to change the position of the mount on the motor side. The cheapest and easiest way is with a few washers and bolts from Home Depot as was already suggested. This will make the brace sit latitudinally across the engine compartment. The stock bracket actually has it at a bit of an angle.

Keep in mind, you are not getting an actual dampened brace, it is rigid.

Yeah, it's not a damper. I keep thinking that because it looks like a damper. DOH!
There are bushings inside the tube or something to sorta absorb a bit of shock. It's still stiff though.
Still a very good deal on this piece. The one from Feed is $200.

I took one apart and it has three bushings inside. One appears to be delrin, and it is sandwiched between two rubber or urethane bushings. It doesn't really have much give to it. I think the bushings are there to dampen the vibrations transmited to the body.

are the brackets that come with the feed and hpi braces exactly the same as well? im starting to think that these braces are starting to become more of a cosmetic upgrade than anything else.
