I pulled off my upper intake manifold and primed the fuel system(thanks flybye). My friend was looking around the injectors and sure enough a huge puddle of fuel. We were looking at pulling out the solenoid rack but it seemed over our heads. Now my car is just sitting in the garage and I'm considering getting it towed to PFS. I really don't want to pay the cash but it looks like I might have to.

 

removing the solenoid rack isn't hard, it is just time consuming.

take your time and take note of what goes where

might do a hoses job while you are in there

The usual cause of fuel leakage in that area of an untouched engine, is the FUEL PULSATION DAMPENER. It is connected on the fuel inlet side of the primary fuel rail.

 

Yeah I know its the dampener, but thanks. From the looks of it I might have to remove the alternator and crap like that to get the rack out. Puma, you know of any directions on how to pull it out? We started to label each hose we removed. I am going to search on here as well.

Yeah alternator needs to come out... I dont have any of the proper tools to do this.

 

Proper tools ??????? You shouldn't need any, at least I didn't when i took my alternator out. Just a wrench or two, I forget the size. There is one bolt on the lower right side of it and then the tensioner bolt if I remember correctly. 12 or 14mm I think. Once it is loose unplug the wiring harness that is attatched to it and wiggle it around till it comes out.
