Fog Light Switch Wiring
The previous owner of my car installed a set of PIAA fogs wired into the stock switch. I don't know why I never noticed it before, but the switch itself doens't light up when the headlights are on, but it does light up when the switch is depressed. Sounds like a simple wiring mix up, does anyone know which wires go where?

Here's the details on the factory fog light switch and how to light it when doing the fan mod.
There are four wires on the fog light switch. Two are larger gauge, the white and the red with yellow stripe. Two are smaller gauge, the red with green stripe and the red with blue stripe.
Only the two larger gauge wires are actually switched on and off by the switch. These are the two wires to use for the fan mod. Use one wire to go to ground and the other to where you are wiring into the fan circuit such as the version of the fan mod that goes to the relays. It doesn't matter which you choose.
The two smaller gauge wires are not operated by the switch. These two wires are the hot and ground wires for the amber illuminating diode (bulb) in the switch itself. The illuminating diode glows only when the head lights/panel lights are turned on. This illuminating diode is NOT a light to tell you the switch is in the on/closed position. The red with blue stripe is the hot and the red with green stripe is the ground. You do not have to hook-up these two wires for the fan mod to work. However, if you want the foglight switch (now the fan mod switch) to illuminate with the other panel lights then connect the red with green stripe wire on the foglight switch to the red with green stripe wire on the rear window defroster switch which happens to be close by on the console panel. Do the same with the red with blue stripe wires. Now you will have a fan mod switch that illuminates with all the other panel lights.
