FMIC install options

im am installing a megan racing intercooler 12x24x3 with 3 inch outlets/inlets. Now here is my situation. if i run the intercooler on the inside as the greddy and blitz do(by inside i mean, in the engine bay) i dont seem to have room to get by my oil cooler at all. now if i run it on the outside and cut away the rebar and run it this way there will be room. or always flip it so the inlets/outlets are on top and run it that way. I've been running through pictures and installs for the past 2 hours on here seeing which works out best. i will be running 2.5" steel pipes first and then once those are welded and fine i will get some 2.75" and have it mandral bent to fit the shape of the 2.5" unless someone else sees a better way.
2.75 is pretty hard to find around here for a decent price.
im just raddled.

ive seen piping run infront of the oil cooler, which doesnt seem to be too smart, as our oils is hot as it is. and also through the middle of the IC and radiator which would also put heat towards the ac and Radiator, if anyone has any other ways to run the piping or found an awesome way, i would appreciate a little help.
thanks guys

Jake

this might sound a little all over the place, im just tired and perplexed.

I would call their tech support if possible. Cutting the rebar could weaken things. XS and another company made a similar fitting unit that required cutting the rebar but it is not made anymore. You could run 3" piping and then use a coupler reducer at the turbo and elbow. Maybe you should just make a v-mount if have to fab anyhow.

i considered running 3 inch but it would not provide adequate flow for the curve around the intercooler. i cannot do a v-mount setup with this intercooler. i would have to sell it to get a intercooler with the inlets and outlets on the back. thanks though.
anyone else have anything?

here is what is going on right now...
I have raised up the oil cooler about an inch and a quarter.
The radiator will need its brackets welded onto the car and then screwed from the top for easy removal.
power steering line will be steel braided line to connect from one side of the car to the next. ( anyone have a problem with the fluid not being cooled enough?)
AST will be mounted onto radiator bracket
ill post those pics here in a few.

shes winking saying everything will be alright...

alright here is the verdict my rpms would bounce around and the fans would not turn on when the car was idling. Now when the headlights came on the RPMS went up to around 2000. whereas before it was 1000-1500 constant. and with the headlights turned on the radiator fans would run.

Now i found out the person who welded my brackets for the radiator, had gotten too close to the wires, and some are pretty crispy and bare. So now i need to figure out what wires are bare, and close to it, and fix and repair and see if this fixes my problem. Does anyone have a wiring diagram that goes to the spot by the headlights and radiator (the spot where the Ac condensor is) ?? i would really appreciate it.

thanks
Jake
