Flasher unit gone bad?

Since I've gotten my car back, only the left turn signal works. On the wire harness that plugs into the flasher unit by the driver's kickpanel it looks like there was a power surge - there's a brown mark on the white harness.

When you click the signal on, you can hear something clicking (faintly) but there's no indicator arrow, and neither the front or rear signal flashes.

Any suggestions? The guy that put everything in thinks the unit is fried.

*Almost forgot - My coolant light (no buzzer) is always on after a few seconds of starting up. I'm told the flasher unit is intertwined with that light somehow...true? I know I have plenty of coolant!!!
