Flaring fuel hardlines for AN fittings
Hey guys,
Amongst the many things I'm working on at the moment is a fuel system upgrade. I got rails and lines from Keith at KGParts and they're great. Now I would like to get my hardlines flared so I can just connect the stainless steel braided lines straight to the hardlines with AN fittings. I've searched around but haven't been able to find that much info on this for 3rd gens.
I could buy a flare kit, but frankly I don't trust myself to get the angle of the flare exactly right. I'd prefer to just take the lines to a shop. A buddy suggested calling around to brake shops, muffler shops, and local hot rod shops to see if any of them can do it. I'll try that tonight. Any other suggestions for shops to try?
I'm a little concerned that the hard lines are so close to each other at the ends that the flares won't fit. Any suggestions?
Finally, are the hardlines made out of steel or aluminum? I think they're aluminum, but I'm not 100% sure.

the hard lines should be steel....keep in mind that they are metric and you need a 37 deg. flare...most brake/ muffler shops will not carry these flare tools. I believe goodridge carries metric tube nuts IIRC its a 6mm. they also have a pretty good flaring tool. goodridge.net
