Fixed my passenger power window switch
Maybe someone has posted about this before, but I thought I'd share what I did. I had this problem on two 3rd gens and decided to fix it on this one.
The symptom I had was the passenger's side switch could move the window up but not down, and the driver's side switch could move the passenger's window both up and down. I started by popping out the switch and measuring the resistance (IGN off) in the various positions and it seemed to check out OK. I then measured the voltage (IGN on) while using the switch and the down side contact that should provide power to the regulator would not show nearly any voltage. I unsoldered the switch from the wires and took the switch appart. There was fretting corrosion on both normally open contacts and the two metal pieces that rock back and forth. I cleaned the contacts and metal pieces, reassembled the switch. I resoldered the wires to the switch and it worked!
To summarize:
1) pop switch out of door
2) desolder wires
3) pop open the switch assembly
4) clean contacts and metal pieces (I used an eraser)
5) reassemble switch
6) resolder wires
7) pop switch back in the door
Good Luck,
Mark

Could'nt wait till tommorow, did it right away, and fixed it. worked great. save yourself some time. don't desolder anything. the switch pops apart afte removal from door handle. only takes about five minutes, start to finish.

Both of the plastic tabs broke free of my passenger side window switch. I replaced the inside tab with a staple and the switch stays in, but if you lift up from the bottom, then you can take it out for easy access to the top door handle mount behind it.
