Nice looking car, Snook. The paint is an interesting color, looks good. Don't listen to the rest of these guys, don't get sideskirts and keep the car wingless.
Lookin good.

thanks I will take all of the comments into consideration
One question I thought I should answer about the fitment: The place where I bought the bumper from (mbautosports) has bad service and the bumper doesn't fit very well at all. No, I didn't fit it myself I believe it took a pro a full day or more to fit it and add bondo and cut out the spot for the new turn lamps in the frame. For me it was worth it since I was getting a paint job but for others it may be better to get a good quality bumper.
Evot I look forward to that race

Hell yeah go BUCS
Thanks everyone for the compliments on the color and bumper but mostly the color because it took me 3 days of looking through color books to figure it out. Then I gave up and chose my old car color because I knew I liked that for sure.
Yeah the car would just look crazy with some 18" bbs wheels I wish I could afford that. Maybe I can get a sponsor out of it if I get the wheels. I'll tell my parents to loan me money as an investment.
Damn evot I knew I wasn't home free from that oil change it just seemed like you guys were too nice.
I'm sure I'll be joining with treatment like that. RX 7 owners are the best ever.
Fitment problems yes a little and paint bubbling very slight as well but I am having the front end repainted any way because of some little imperfections I found after we thought we had found everything.
later and thanks

I just wanted to say that the car looks great! I got to see the car in person before the paint job (as it was in the hands of the previous owner). Snook, great job on the car. Just to let some of you know, that car has a hidden trailer hitch on the back. I believe Snook can tow a set of racing slicks if he wanted to.

Thanks Joseph I am so glad people appreciate the way the car turned out as much as I do. I put a lot of thought into it as I will with every one of my mods on it.
I guess you knew Gil personally. He is a great guy I can't say enough about our interaction with the sale of the car.
The trailer hitch is so hidden that I can't even find it myself....I've looked a few times without luck but I know it's there
That is a great idea about towing slicks to the track and if anyone wants to see that please donate some racing slicks for the track and I will be willing to take some pictures and give you credit for helping my 1/4 times
Seriously, I can't wait to get out to the track, I plan on doing really well even though I'm not very used to the car yet.

That's funny...I see your 4th pic or so with the TB Bucs plate and see you live probably 15 minutes from me..
Got the same MB sports bumper in my office along with the Scoot hood. Am waiting for the RE Amem sides and Feed Spoiler along with some tuning work and my wheels before I put it all on. (Reliability 1st, Engine & Suspension Performance 2nd, Exterior 3rd, and then my interior...)
PM me if you want. It'd be cool to get together at lunch or on a weekend. I'm on the Clearwater beach side.

If you are going to have a strong hood or front, the car does look a little awkward without something in the back.
I have had my FD since 93 and it has been almost stock (Touring, no wing, no lip, no mods other than K&N filter) . Once it blew at 100k almost exactly I started modding it and realized that functionally I really wanted a Scoot hood. Then I realized it looked stupid on a stock car (saw the pics, in red too) and saw it needed a good front bumper to look more natural (just like his MB's "Feed Version 1"...what I selected, thin but very inexpensive and I do damage). Then I saw pics of a car with just those two and it looked a little less awkard but still funny to me.
Bottom line IMO, if you start to deviate from the body except maybe for '99 spec parts, you need to typically go all the way. A strong front bumper to me needs sides, rear spoiler probably optional. Strong hood needs bumper so then you need the sides too.
The RX-7 is a FINE, FINE looking car stock but change a front bumper or hood for whatever reason and you (generally) have to balance the agressiveness out. At least I hope I'm right from the pics I have seen...will find out in person soon enough.

fdslave_g: thanks agaiN!
Quivver: I live on clearwater beach about 30 minutes from tampa but I go to college in gainesville which is about 2 hours and 30 minutes from my house. The apartment complex is actually just one in Gainesville where my friend lives since he had the digital camera.
DavidDeco: I live on clearwater beach also. Do you have a montego blue rx7? I have seen that one parked in downtown clearwater a couple times before I got my car but that is about it for rx7 sightings near my house sadly. I am home for the weekend this weekend through sometime Monday but then I will be heading back to Gainesville and probably stay there for a while.
I agree that you need to balance the car out but money is the only thing stopping me from doing tons of things that I have stored in my head to the car. I just had to replace the front bumper for sure I wasn't going to get a paint job and leave the old touring bumper on...I think that bumper and old turn lamps was making the car looking retarded.
I managed to get the car looking awesome with just one exterior mod I think. The car looks crazy with just that bumper so that's why I did it. I was going to get the real 99 spec bumper with chin spoiler but I like this one way better now.
I'd like to see your car too let me know for this weekend.
evot23: You know the guy that owns that car messaged me because he was shocked that someone was using his car in the avatar. I told him to take it as a compliment because it's an awesome car but now that both of you mention it I think my car would work better also.
Don't worry it was raining so I didn't go either.
Joseph: Yes, I talked with Gil for a very long time about every detail of the car. I remember he told me about the 13.6. I hope I can pull a better time than that now with more mods. thanks for the info on that. I would love to learn how to drive a track...and you're right no experience with an instructor or anything
remember this also involves money too and I'm not as rich as the older fd owners I'd rather spend it in mods and try my luck on the road and the drag strip occasionally
