And I'm not sure about the no go kind of car statement. I had 225ft-lb at 3000rpms and the car was scary when I was seq! I like your approach.Did you polished the CAS's??? Even though you usually can't see them in the car it makes for tricked out pictures for the build up!!
...same with powder coating the trigger wheel, I've got a red one down there, looks neat with a black front cover. (I masked the rear of the wheel for clearance/resistance purposes...I know...I'm overboard with electronics
)
I'm just picking

It'd look real bling with chrome pully bolts!
engine looks great!!

Man, you are just picking on me.. I was thinking about getting them sand blasted to look newer.. but that was just too much work and I don't have a sand blaster. Maybe I'll take them off and paint them..

I'll post some more pics as i start bolting more parts. I'm going to try to put the tranny next week.
hey man, you said show car, LOL!!
That's why I went dark in the engine bay...all the bolts and fasteners are hidden, except my blingin' chrome nut caps on the UIM and TB
I love the plans you have for this car even before this set-up is in...FD owners, go figure...

I went to Garfinkles over the weekend and picked up my modified oil metering pump. I'm running the external 2cycle reserve tank and needed to turn the oil metering pump a little. I'll post some pics of that tonight when I get home.. if anyone's interested.

Thats correct. This way you don't have to worry about using synthetics in your engine and its possible out come.
My reserve is 1 quart I believe.. I'll post pics of it tonight.

the tank is the cylindrical gunmetal colored "thing" above my air filter. . .
the "block-off/reroute" plate is way down in there and hard to get pictures of. . . sorry that i cant get that. . . go to www.rotaryaviation.com and look in their aviation field for purchasing info. . .
its worth it IMO.

Anyhow, I did get my inspiration from Paul's car and Garfinkle's.. Its definitely a good idea.

and for those of you trying to get in touch with this guy personally (which is the only way you can order the item), you can get in touch with him at:
Richard Sohn
8029 HWY 1087
DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433
(850)834-4905
unicorn@gdsys.net
you have to SEND him the payment. he DOES NOT take paypal. dont know why, must be older. . . hes good for it though. . . just get him the payment, mark the item you want on the memo block or put a memo in the envelope (i.e. "3rd gen electric pump"), and hell send it out as soon as he recieves it.
edit: heres the webpage for information on the product at rotaryaviation

It has some sort of solenoid type that activates it. If you do this mod, you would need to modify the stock OMP so that the turbo oil line will fit. I got this done by Garfinkle.. Yes, I keep mentioning his name but I have to give credit to his hard work.

I plan to pick his brain tonight, I'd like to just go ahead and get all the important 'hard to do' mods out of the way while my motor is out as stuff like this will be near impossible once its installed.
Thanks,

hehe, no. . . our 3rd gens have been electric for a long time. they did away with the mechanical pump when the s5 came out in '89.
that is stock. . .
to clarify things. . . the modification that phil had david garfinkle do is for the OMP. when putting the adapter on the engine w/stock twin configuration, the electrical portion of the pump doesnt fit at the connector end. so, it has to be reclocked. just contact him and hell be able to tell you more details.
the reason you see a place for "3rd gen mechanical" is because some people dont like premixing and have a different EMS than the stock computer or powerfc. these other systems dont control the electric OMP. they then convert to a mechanical OMP and have the best of both worlds.
